Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is coming off a season where he broke the franchise record for touchdowns by a tight end in a season with 11, but is that enough to bring him back for the 2026 season?
Goedert is currently going to be a free agent for the Eagles and is expected to be one of the top tight ends available in the NFL. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman spent time with the media at the NFL Combine to be asked about whether Goedert would be re-signed, and Roseman didn't exactly shoot down the idea.
"A tremendous player and person for the Philadelphia Eagles," Roseman said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "Really glad we were able to figure it out and bring it back to Philadelphia this year and for this season. Tremendously productive for us, just a huge asset for our offense. To have him on our football team, again, we got to put the whole puzzle together. And so to sit here, — we got a lot of other free agents too — and say, 'Hey, we're definitely going to get this guy back,' when we get this late, obviously, the market dictates that as well. We'll certainly sit down with his agent here over the next couple of days and have a conversation. Very appreciative of Dallas Goedert."
Could Dallas Goedert be back in the midnight green uniforms in Philly?
Despite having that franchise record, Goedert wasn't quite the impact player he had been in the past. Before the season, the Eagles asked the long-time tight end to take a pay cut from $14 million to $10 million in 2025, which Goedert accepted. He had a solid season, staying mostly healthy and playing in 15 games, but averaged less than 10 yards per reception for the first time in his career.
The Eagles currently have only Cameron Latu as a tight end on the roster. Goedert joins Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson as the free agent tight ends from Philly available.
It'll all come down to price mark for Goedert and whether the Eagles can afford him, as he is expected to have a market value of $6 million, according to Spotrac. Philly first has to focus on bringing back key players like Jaelan Phillips and, potentially, Reed Blankenship, so they may not be able to afford to bring Goedert back.

The Eagles would love to have Goedert back, but with so many positions to focus on, many think they might opt for the NFL Draft to find their new TE1. It'll be an interesting offseason to see what happens, but Roseman won't close the door on Goedert's potentially returning yet.
