Eagles fans will have to wait a bit longer to see their newest acquisition take the field, finally.
Per the team and NFL insider Adam Schefter, Jaire Alexander is ruled out for Monday night's game against the Packers. Schefter reports that the team believes Alexander is still acclimating to Vic Fangio's defensive scheme, while still recovering from a knee injury.
Alexander was not listed on the Eagles' injury report this week and was reported to be taking first-team reps across from CB1 Quinyon Mitchell. With both the knee injury and limited time to prepare, the Eagles are taking precautionary measures to get him ready for the rest of the season.
No Alexander in Week 10 for the Eagles
Alexander was acquired from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. He was the second cornerback acquired during the trade deadline, with the Eagles acquiring Michael Carter II from the Jets during the bye week.
Alexander is an established veteran who was a first-round pick by the Packers in 2018 out of Louisville, earning two Pro Bowls during his time in Green Bay. He signed a one-year deal worth $4 million with a maximum value of $6 million through incentives with Baltimore during the off-season, only appearing in two games so far this season.
With so much uncertainty for the Eagles across from Quinyon Mitchell, the Eagles are eager to see how much Alexander has left in the tank, especially during a contract year., The Eagles have called upon the services of Kelee Ringo and Adoree' Jackson, who have played at a sub-par level.

The acquisition of Alexander is hopefully the Eagles' answer to sure up a defense that has had its moments of success, however, has been lacking competent play across from one of the NFL's best defensive backs. The Eagles hope that Alexander can be ready for their Week 11 matchup against the Detroit Lions.
