Philadelphia Eagles fans have grown tired and frustrated with their kicker, Jake Elliott, after another rough season, but the team doesn't seem to feel the same way.
Elliott finished last season as one of the least accurate kickers in the NFL, as he converted just 74.1% of his field goals, the second lowest of his career, and his lowest ever when attempting 20 or more field goals. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was asked about Elliott at the NFL Combine, and the tone hasn't changed about him.
"I think that Jake has been a tremendous kicker for us since we got him off practice squad in Cincinnati in 2017," Roseman said via NBC Philadelphia Sports' Dave Zangaro. "Tremendously clutch. Have a lot of confidence in him as a player, as a kicker, as a person, a captain on our team and continue to believe in him as our place kicker."
Howie Roseman again publicly supports Jake Elliott
It was the same thing last season, when Elliott had that stretch of games in which he missed four field goals in five games, and the Eagles supported him. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni refused to say whether he would hold Elliott accountable for his misses, and Roseman never brought in competition for him.
Elliott has gone two straight seasons where he was under 80% on his field goal attempts during the regular season. This has left many Eagles fans wondering why the team is so stuck in its ways and sticking with him.
The hope is that this offseason, they will at least consider bringing in some competition to push Elliot to kick better. Right now, he has to feel as though he's got no pressure to lose his job, and that's a bad place to be in football.

Eagles fans shouldn't hold their breath as Elliott appears to be in a good spot on the team going into the 2026 season.
