Many have been wondering how Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts would fare in the aftermath of A.J. Brown being traded.
Brown had already been asked about his relationship with Hurts and seemed to suggest the two were not on bad terms, given Hurts's exit. Hurts was also asked about his relationship with Brown after the final day of mandatory OTAs, and he responded the way fans expected.
"I'm not in the place to challenge anyone's perspective on anything," Hurts said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "Seemingly so, it was (Brown's perspective), that's where I am. I've always been focused on the collective. I've always put my energy toward that."
Jalen Hurts keeps it vague on his response regarding A.J. Brown
Hurts and Brown's relationship has been under the microscope over the last two years. When Brown first joined the Eagles in 2022, they were very close, with Hurts at Brown's draft party when Brown was selected by the Tennessee Titans years earlier. The first two years in Philly went well between them, as Brown was putting up big numbers and Hurts led the Eagles to the Super Bowl in 2022.
Then 2024 rolled around, and the relationship started to sour as Brown's stats went down and the offense became more reliant on running the football. Despite winning the Super Bowl and making the playoffs, their friendship seemed to have ended, boiling over into last year, to the point that Brown wanted out of Philly for good.
Hurts reflected with the media on whether he was disappointed with how Brown's tenure ended with the Eagles.
"You come into it, and you have a sense of pride on how it began and definitely what we were accomplish. And the same I said last time, nothing can take that away. For the great things we did, now it's time to focus on achieving great things with this new iteration of the team."

There has to be a sense of relief for Hurts that this saga is over and he can go back to just focusing on playing football. He will have a chance to build a relationship with the core group of receivers he has now, with the bubbling relationship he already has with DeVonta Smith as his new number one receiver.
