Training camp for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts could be better, but it could be a whole lot worse also.
There is some early criticism of the offense and how they have regressed throughout the first week of training camp. Hurts has yet to throw a touchdown pass and has faced all kinds of pressure from the defense. He is also watching a lot of incompletions, and he is not throwing the most accurate passes.
This is leading to some premature notions that Hurts and the Eagles' offense are in trouble after three days of training camp. One point seems to be missing from what has been positive about the unit and Hurts.

Through three days of training camp, Hurts is doing what he has done best over the years: not turning the ball over. Hurts has gone through each practice without throwing a single interception.
"It’s more important Jalen Hurts has 0 interceptions so far in training camp than it is he has zero touchdowns," SportsRadio 94 WIP Eagles reporter Eliot-Shorr-Parks said, "Hurts takes care of the ball again this season and Eagles will win a lot of games."
Some fans will look at this and not think much of it since it is only training camp, or because it is already known about Hurts. In reality, this only shows that Hurts is off to a much better start than in OTAs.
Hurts was turning the ball over in those OTAs, showing the offense wasn't getting going amid early struggles to build chemistry with the receivers and learn new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion's scheme.
By all indications at training camp, the Eagles have learned the offense for the most part. The wide receivers have all commented on Hurts and building that rapport with them.
Where Hurts needs the most work right now is continuing to build rapport with the receivers and knowing where they will be. That's not something that gets fixed overnight. It's something the Eagles will have to work on throughout the next few weeks in practice and in preseason.

Sure, it's completely fair to want Hurts and the Eagles offense to play better through the first few days of training camp, but it doesn't always work out like that. Most NFL teams are going through the same headaches, so the fan base needs to give this time, and Hurts will be playing better in no time—those zero interceptions he needs to be praised more than his play has needed to be criticized in camp.
