The Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl defense tour didn't end the way they had envisioned. Specifically, it ended way earlier than anyone expected. The Eagles lost 23-19 to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round. There was one player in the spotlight in the Eagles' loss, and it was wide receiver A.J. Brown.

Brown had a game to forget, as he caught three passes for just 25 yards on seven targets. Some of those incompletions were drops by Brown. Then there was Brown's sideline argument with head coach Nick Sirianni after a first half drive that featured multiple drops from the wide receiver. After the game, Brown left the locker room and avoided speaking to reporters. That has once again opened the floodgates of speculation, wondering if this was the last time Brown would play for the Eagles.

On Monday, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was asked about Brown and if he'd like him to remain in Philadelphia. Hurts said that he and Brown have talked and are "in a good, great place."

Jalen Hurts backs A.J. Brown as future on Eagles is uncertain

There's no denying that Philadelphia is a much better team with Brown on it. But with Brown, there will be drama that follows him, some of which he creates. Brown has shown that he will publicly voice his displeasure if he feels he doesn't get enough targets in a game. But considering he is one of the top receivers in the game, it's something that the Eagles can put up with.

This season, Brown recorded 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns on 121 targets in 15 games. Through his four seasons in Philadelphia, Brown hauled in 339 of 521 targets for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns.

There are going to be plenty of questions regarding what the Eagles do this offseason. In all likelihood, head coach Nick Sirianni will make changes to his staff. Not to mention, the likes of Dallas Goedert, Nakobe Dean, Reed Blankenship, and Jaelan Phillips are set to hit free agency. And yes, there will be questions about Brown's status in Philadelphia this offseason.
