This might be one of the rare moments where Philadelphia Eagles fans would actually pin some of the 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears on quarterback Jalen Hurts after a rocky performance.
Hurts finished the game completing 19 of 34 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns with an interception and a fumble in the loss, while adding 31 yards rushing. After the game, Hurts did what he does best and didn't pin the loss on anyone and took accountability for his performance.
“A combination of a lot of things. Ultimately, you look inward first, and I see it as how the flow of things has gone for us this year, and being practical about that. I can't turn the ball over, so the ultimate goal is to go out there and find a way to win. That's been a direct correlation with success for us being able to protect the ball, and so that really, really killed us.
We have to definitely stay together. Stay committed to what the team is trying to accomplish. In the end, no one ever said it was going to be easy, and we’ve got to embrace the challenge. We’ve got to embrace this time and respond to it the right way.”

Hurts keeping the focus and still has Eagles fans' support
The tough part of this loss is that Hurts is going to take a ton of criticism and act like he's been this bad all season. He only has two interceptions and two fumbles through 12 games this season. Any team would kill to have a quarterback who protects the ball as well as he does.
What people will talk about that is fair commentary is the misses Hurts had. Hurts missed a wide-open DeVonta Smith in the first quarter that could have gone for a 26-yard touchdown on third down if he hadn't thrown the ball behind Smitty. There was another moment where Dallas Goedert was wide open in the end zone, and Hurts didn't hit him.
Hurts' turnovers were bad as well. The interception was thrown into double coverage, and his fumble on the Tush Push can't happen on a play that is highly successful.

More of the blame should go on the coaching staff, but to Hurts' credit and something he has done time and time again this season, he won't blame just one person and take accountability when things don't go well. That's the kind of leader this team needs right now to keep things calm when a storm is about to hit them for the next week and a half.
