Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been taking the majority of the hits from fans and the media over the last month for his play, but was able to quiet the noise in Week 15.
Hurts completed 12 of 15 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns to zero interceptions, adding another 39 yards on the ground in the 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. After the game, Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean said if he heard the criticism, he would bet Hurts did as well.
Well, turns out Dean probably shouldn't take up betting ever, as Hurts told the media otherwise while sharing how he can turn a deaf ear to all the negative noise around him.
"He'd be a broke man if he made that bet."
"It's who I am. This isn't my first rodeo. Very unprecedented journey to be here. But unprecedented is unprecedented."
Hurts is all business and doesn't care about criticism
It's honestly something Hurts has dealt with his whole football career, from Alabama to Oklahoma to the Eagles. There has always been criticism of his style of play at quarterback, and questions have surrounded him.
Hurts has been great at blocking out the noise and focusing on just winning, which he has done a lot of in his career, wherever he has played. He's won 68.7% of his regular season starts and is 6-3 as the starter for the Eagles in the postseason, including two Super Bowl appearances and one Super Bowl win with a Super Bowl MVP.
No one deals with adversity and criticism better than Hurts, which is what makes him the perfect quarterback for Philadelphia. Carson Wentz struggled with it near the end of his time with the Eagles, which led to a lot more losses after his ACL injury.
With Hurts? Nothing fazes him. He sticks it out and fights through it, still putting up good performances and wins.

Hurts has three more weeks to keep that chatter down with him and make sure the noise is all good as the Eagles pursue an NFC East division title crown and a trip to the postseason.
