The result of the Philadelphia Eagles' 24-17 loss to the Washington Commanders in the regular season finale may not have ended the way the fan base wanted it to. However, there were still some incredible moments that came from it.

One of the standout performances of the game came from edge rusher and breakout 2025 star Jalyx Hunt, who solidified his dominance for the team. Hunt finished the game with two tackles, one pass deflection, one interception, and one fumble recovery in the loss.

That performance actually helped Hunt get over the hump on a little bit of franchise history. He became the first Eagle in franchise history to lead the team in sacks (6.5) and interceptions (three) in the same season.

Hunt made history for the Eagles in the loss to the Commanders

It's been an excellent season for Hunt, who has broken out big time in his second season with the Eagles after being a third-round pick in 2024. He was just a reserve player who got more playing time at the end of their Super Bowl run, with Bryce Huff injured, and earned his way into the rotation.

This season, Hunt has been great, racking up 52 tackles, five stuffs, 6.5 sacks, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one pick-six in 17 games. He was arguably the best pass rusher on the team as he had 55 pressures, 31 hurries, and 17 quarterback hits.

While Jaelan Phillips and Brandon Graham were added to the roster in 2025 to help the team with the pass rush, Hunt has done everything for this defense and has been the most consistent player on it. He is the perfect Vic Fanigo defender as he is ready to drop back into coverage or rush the passer whenever he's told to.

The former high school wide receiver has been a ton of fun to watch and has undoubtedly made a ton of noise for the Eagles. Philly will need him in the playoffs with the San Francisco 49ers coming to town in the NFC Wild Card.
