Every Philadelphia Eagles fan is hoping the Birds will make the quick decision to fire offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo and that they might have some good options to take over.

One of the options the Eagles were hoping to have isn't going to happen, as ESPN's Adam Schefter was told by sources that the Indianapolis Colts will keep Shane Steichen as their head coach for the 2026 season. Steichen finishes his third season as the head coach with a second straight 8-9 record after losing the last seven games to close the year.

Eagles fans will remember Steichen fondly as he was the offensive coordinator for Philly in 2021 and 2022. The unit under him was 14th in total offense in 2021 and third in 2022, when they made the Super Bowl.

Philly might be stuck with Patullo for another season

It has been a miserable season for the Eagles' offense, as it is the first time in the Nick Sirianni era that the offense has been in the bottom 10 in total offense and the rushing attack has been under 16th in the league. This is the second straight season the offense has been in the bottom 10 in passing yards, though.

All season long, Patullo's job has been called into question as he has struggled with multiple aspects of the job. Some of those issues include play calling and getting into a rhythm on when to run it and when to pass the ball. The creativity of the calls has not been great, with receivers running the same hitch routes multiple times a game.

Another option can still come for the Eagles at offensive coordinator. Still, with Steichen off the table and New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore most likely not reliving the glory days of 2024, Philly might be stuck with Patullo another season.
