The Philadelphia Eagles once again are dealing with some drama, this time with a member of the coaching staff who keeps his head down.
A new report from The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane says that Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland was stripped of his run game coordinator job at one point in the 2025 season. Stoutland's future is in question, as he might end up as the team's only offensive line coach if he is retained in 2026.
One of Stoutland's top players in his coaching career, former Eagles center Jason Kelce, went on SportsRadio 94 WIP for his weekly appearance as he chimed in on the report. While sharing his respect for McLane, Kelce does have some questions about the report.
"Sometimes you don't know what that means, what degree that was like in my opinion, one of the problems I have with the Eagles' offense this year and one of the problems that I have had in the past is that the offense becomes disjointed when everybody does their own sector. That could mean something of like, 'Hey, we wanted everything to look more in sync with like the play action and the run game,' which has been a major issue with the Eagles. So, maybe there was some that like I don't know to what degree that means. I don't know to what level that was. I don't know if that's true at all. I think sometimes when you're hearing these reports coming out, you have to understand that a lot of times after a disappointing season, agents and coaches are going to be saying things to reporters that absolve them of fault."
What does Jeff Stoutland's future look like with the Eagles?
Stoutland has been with the Eagles since 2013 and has produced some of the best offensive linemen in that time. His top players include Kelce, Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, Brandon Brooks, Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, and so many more.
There's no denying, though, that the run game took a massive dive in 2025 as it was the first time in the Nick Sirianni era that the offense finished outside the top 10 in rushing. Something is going to have to change with the running game in 2026, whether that means changing the scheme or fixing the offensive line.
The Eagles' offensive line faced more problems than they are used to, as they fought through injuries to Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, and Lane Johnson. That resulted in continuity problems, and production decreased for a historically great group.

Philly loves Stoutland and the work he's done as he is no doubt a future Hall of Famer, but depending on who is hired as the new offensive coordinator, it could depend on what happens with the legendary coach in 2026 and beyond.
