The vibes are high with the Philadelphia Eagles, as everyone is starting to buy into Sean Mannion's stock as the offensive coordinator.
All offseason, coaches and players outside of Philly were complimenting Mannion on his football IQ and how smart he is. Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata can back up those claims after two weeks of OTAs with a strong vote of confidence he gave to his new coach.
"If I were to lock the three smartest people in the facility in one room, Sean would be there, and I think Sean will just be himself. It would just be Sean," Mailata said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "He's a wizard. And I'm super excited, as the year goes on, we get to display what is in the beautiful mind of his."
Sean Mannion has everyone's full support in Philly so far
Everyone has been praising Mannion early on, from Nick Sirianni to Jalen Hurts to now Mailata. It feels as though this is very different from what the Eagles fan base saw when Kevin Patullo held the offensive coordinator job last year, as the excitement level wasn't this high.
Mannion doesn't have big shoes to fill, though, as Patullo coached an Eagles offense that was in the bottom 15 in every major offensive statistical category, including total offense, passing, rushing, and scoring. Even though this offense is a year older, with its veterans and a blend of inexperienced young players, the unit is in a much better position in 2026.
Obviously, the big loss for Philly is A.J. Brown after being traded to the New England Patriots this week. The wide receiver room, though, is still in a great position with DeVonta Smith, rookie Makai Lemon, Dontayvion Wicks, and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown in the picture for what is arguably the deepest room the Eagles have had in a long time.
The early reports from OTAs are that the offense is finding early success under center, similar to last year, but this year they plan to use it more often. This is helping the passing and running games become more efficient and consistent than they were a year ago.

Mannion has been a great change of pace for the Eagles' offense as the new play caller, and the hope is that the improvements can continue.
