Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is talking to local reporters for the first time since the offseason began, and the number one question on everyone's mind is: How is it going with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion?
Hurts is on his seventh play caller in his NFL career, and Mannion is in his first year as a play caller. When asked about his experience with the new coach, Hurts was all positive with his comments.
“It’s been a really good process so far," Hurts said via Eagles reporter Anthony DiBona. "He’s very clear, giving good direction. You can definitely see the vision. Been able to answer all of my questions…it’s been a very enjoyable journey so far.”
Jalen Hurts and Sean Mannion seem to be hitting it off with each other (so far)
Hurts had an up-and-down 2025 season under one-and-done offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, so the change of offensive game plan will be a good thing for the Eagles. The offense is about to run a lot more plays under center and spread the defense out, which presents a new challenge for Hurts.
Mannion's offense is going to be close to what Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, and Matt LaFleur are running with their offensive units. Philly's franchise quarterback shared more about what it's like under the new scheme.
“It’s exciting to be able to learn a new brand of football. Get new perspective and just grow," Hurts said. “I’m going at his pace. He’s been very instructive. He’s been very intentional about what he’s doing and why he’s doing it, marrying things.”
When speaking to reporters last week, Mannion had talked positively about his collaboration with Hurts so far. Everything appears to be on good ground between the two.

The Eagles' offense will look very different in 2026, which Eagles fans will be happy to hear. Hurts and Mannion are going to make or break this season for Philly, as if it doesn't work this time around, both could be out of a job.
