There's a lot of talk that new Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown has not lived up to his first-round pick status in his NFL career, but that doesn't matter to Philly, as this could end up being the right place for him.

Brown signed a one-year, $6.5 million contract to be the Eagles' deep threat they have been waiting for years to have on the roster. He spoke with the media in Philadelphia for the first time, sending a message about his play so far in his career and what is to come for Eagles fans in 2026.

"I feel like I haven't played my best ball," Brown said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "I feel like all that is still in front of me. Here in Philly, I'm ready to introduce Hollywood to the city of Philadelphia."

Hollywood coming in with motivation to prove something to Philly

Since being a first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens, Brown has been a solid number two and three receiver on offense, but hasn't been what fans thought he would be, like the next Tyreek Hill. Brown's best seasons so far are 1,008 yards in 2021 with the Ravens and eight touchdowns in 2020 with Baltimore.

The one great thing about Brown is that the Eagles got their vertical weapon that this offense has been missing. While A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are always threats down the field, they don't have the speed that Marquise Brown has to really burn defenders and show off the speed.

With new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion running the Eagles' new-look scheme, similar to the offenses of Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan, Philly will be able to do more with Brown in the slot. Mannion can have more creative routes for Brown to get open, while also opening the door for Smith and A.J. Brown to get open.

Marquise Brown is a much-needed weapon in this offense that was in the bottom 15 in passing last season, so the sky is the limit for Hollywood to arrive in Philly and give the Eagles fans what they have been craving for.
