The Philadelphia Eagles fan base pretty much knows by now that the worst-kept secret in the NFL is that wide receiver A.J. Brown is going to get traded at some point.
Brown has been linked to the New England Patriots in a potential trade, but that most likely won't happen until after June 1, leaving the Eagles to make sure they have his replacement ready to go. ESPN NFL analyst Mike Tannenbaum has a name in the NFL Draft he likes to replace Brown for the future.
“Denzel Boston, University of Washington, four-year starter, big physical receiver. He profiles like A.J. Brown. Again, not saying he’s going to be, right? He’s a perfect complement to the undersized quickness of Hollywood Brown and DeVonta Smith. So, I know we’re in the speculation game. If they would draft Denzel Boston, not saying they’re going to, but if they did, that would be a very meaningful sign about the future of A.J. Brown in Philly.”

Boston has really emerged in the last two years as one of the top receivers in the nation, as he has caught 125 receptions for 1,711 yards and 20 touchdowns with the Huskies. He was selected as a third-team All-Big 10 selection after catching 11 touchdowns in 2025.
One complaint about Boston that has seen his stock drop a bit is that he ran a 4.54-second 40-yard dash, which is slightly below average for the wide receiver class. He's still projected to be a first-round pick in the draft and could be selected within the first 20 picks, as his 6-foot-3 frame still makes him an attractive selection for NFL teams to get a great possession receiver.
The Eagles have done a ton of work at wide receiver over the last month as they have added Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, Elijah Moore, and Dontayvion Wicks to the room. With those additions, there's a chance Philly could pass on a wide receiver in the draft, but there is still the expectation that the Eagles want someone to work with Smith long-term.

It'll be an interesting NFL Draft for the Eagles as they are looking to build for the future on the offensive side of the ball. Boston would be a great addition, someone who would really solidify the future at wide receiver and could help make Eagles fans forget about A.J. Brown.
