One of the best stories on the Philadelphia Eagles roster that doesn't nearly get talked about as often, but should be, is defensive tackle Moro Ojomo.

Back in 2023, Ojomo was a seventh-round pick with not much hope of playing with Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis ahead of him. The past two seasons have told a very different story, as Ojomo has been part of the rotation and has proven himself to be an NFL starting defensive tackle.

Ojomo apparently knows this about himself as well, as he might be looking for something in the future from the Eagles. The Athletes First agency announced that it had signed Ojomo and would now represent him.

Eagles better be ready to pay up soon for Moro Ojomo

Last season was Ojomo's best in the three seasons he had been with the Eagles, as he played a critical role late in the season to replace the injured Carter. Ojomo finished with 38 tackles, six sacks, and one pass deflection.

Pro Football Focus had a second straight season of praising Ojomo, grading him at 73.3, ranking 18th out of 134 defensive tackles in the NFL. He added 49 pressures, 39 hurries, and four quarterback hits on the season.

Ojomo is entering the final year of his four-year rookie contract, estimated to pay him $3.6 million, according to Spotrac. It's too soon to start estimating what Ojomo's next contract will look like, but he could very easily be in the range of $5-10 million per season on his next contract.

With the move to the agency, this could be a clear signal that Ojomo wants a new contract from the Eagles, and there might be offseason negotiations to get it done. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman might want to engage in the conversation as he already has to get a new extension for Davis and pick up Carter's fifth-year option on his rookie deal.

Ojomo more than earned a new contract, and the Eagles would love to get that done, but they have other priorities to take care of first. This won't be like the Milton Williams situation from last offseason, though, as Ojomo shouldn't command that kind of money. At the same time, Roseman needs to take care of Ojomo for a long time and keep him in Philly.
