That's more like it! We like what we saw in weeks seven and eight. That was the Philadelphia Eagles team we expected to see all season.

A 25-point win versus the hated New York Giants... Saquon Barkley got his revenge, even if he doesn't call it that.

But, it felt good to us!

Breaking the jinx in Cincinnati was fun. Now, we need to see consistency. There won't be pleasant discourse if the Birds get off to a slow start vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars or, dare we say, deliver a clunker. That we can promise you. There is no more patience for trending downward.

How are we doing you ask? We're entertaining something we haven't in a while, expectations. This is potentially one of pro football's best teams, so that means they have to rank atop their division, right?

NFC East Power Rankings

Week 8 is gone. Once upon a time, this meant we were flirting with the season's midpoint. The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-2 with ten games remaining on the regular-season schedule.

They're starting to pass the eyeball test. Some will argue the competition hasn't been impressive, but all they can do is play the teams on their schedule.

1. Philadelphia Eagles

Philly tops our list this week, and it isn't because we're partial. If they don't beat themselves, we believe they can hang with anyone.

Each week, they become more familiar with Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio's schemes. They are beginning to resemble the well-oiled machines that we all dreamed of.

Next on the journey is a 4:05 pm kickoff vs. Doug Pederson's Jacksonville Jaguars. Nick Sirianni was complimentary of his predecessor, but there won't be further pleasantries until 7:05 pm on Sunday.

2. Washington Commanders

We said we weren't fearful of Jayden Daniels' hype train. We still aren't, but he has our attention. He's no flash in the pan. Dude is here to stay.

We thought Washington's resurgence might take another couple of years. We were wrong. The Commanders are here, and they're a very good football team.

3. Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are in a tailspin. We are enjoying every freaking minute of it.

That's it! That's the take, that and Jerry Jones will never win another Super Bowl.

4. New York Giants

There was never any point during the most recent Monday Night Football game that we believed the New York Giants had a shot at winning. Frankly, when they do win, we're shocked every single time.

Daniel Jones can't play. Brian Daboll isn't head coach material. We slot the G-Men behind the Cowboys because, for as bad as both teams are, we'd bet on Dallas if these two teams had to play tomorrow.
