Could Howie actually do it?

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is a genius when it comes to striking the right deal for a trade.

Roseman knows what kind of value he can get in a trade, as that has been evident with the A.J. Brown trade to the New England Patriots and the Jonathan Greenard trade from the Minnesota Vikings. While he has made multiple player trades this offseason, ESPN NFL analyst Bart Scott doesn't believe Roseman is quite done yet.

“Listen, I know Howie Roseman, and I see a big move coming. I’m telling you, guys. A big move is coming. Roseman always has a plan. I believe that Roseman is gonna take this (cap) space that he has. I think Maxx Crosby is going to Philadelphia. I think Nolan Smith is the player to trade. The arms race is just beginning.”

Does Howie Roseman have another trade in mind for Maxx Crosby?

If every Eagles fan thought the A.J. Brown trade saga was never-ending, here's another one the media refuses to let go. Because it's Roseman, everyone just assumes that he's going to make a bold trade for a multi-time Pro Bowler like Crosby.

Look, there's no denying that Crosby is a great talent and could help the Eagles out right away. He's been to the Pro Bowl five years in a row and has racked up 69.5 sacks in seven years with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The reality is, why would Roseman make this kind of trade? Sure, he's got three first-round picks in the next two years, but it's more about the financial part than anything. Crosby doesn't come cheap after signing a three-year, $106.5 million extension with the Raiders, which would be an expensive burden on the Eagles after giving Greenard a $100 million extension after that trade.

Philly simply can't afford Crosby now or in the future. Remember, the Eagles still have to have Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper DeJean contract extensions in the next two to three years - at minimum. There could be more young players on this roster looking for new deals in that span as well.

It's an ambitious idea to bring in Crosby, and he would be great for the Eagles, but fans and media members have to let this dream go and move on with their lives. Roseman has bigger fish to fry than trying to get another edge rusher of Crosby's caliber.
