With the 2025 NFL season coming to an end, Pro Football Focus began ranking the teams' Quarterback rooms as 30 of the 32 franchises continue their offseason.

PFF analyst John Kosko ranked the Eagles 24th in "QB needy rooms," putting them in a tier of "things to like" with the franchise moving in 2026.

"There may not be another Super Bowl–winning quarterback who has faced as much scrutiny over the past year as Jalen Hurts. Now on his sixth offensive coordinator in as many NFL seasons, Hurts has still guided the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances and played exceptionally well in both. Over the past three seasons, his 88.4 PFF overall grade ranks 12th among NFL quarterbacks."

Eagles are in prime position with Jalen Hurts as the starting quarterback

The majority of the praise and blame ultimately leans on Jalen Hurts, who produced a lot of good and just one bad game in 2025. Between a five-turnover game against the Los Angeles Chargers and two games where the Eagles still managed a victory despite not completing a pass in the second half, Hurts still holds the trust of the franchise so much so that head coach Nick Sirianni relieved his "buddy," Kevin Patullo, of offensive coordinator duties, as the Eagles continue to look for a coach to maximize their franchise quarterback's skillset.

The team also continues to roster Tanner McKee for the final year of his rookie contract. McKee, when called upon, has provided above-average play in a limited capacity, with some fans even believing he should have been given more opportunities during the 2025 season.

Despite being "solid" at QB1 and QB2, the Eagles will most likely bring in some competition in the back half of the QB room. Last season, Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Kyle McCord were ultimately replaced by Sam Howell (partly due to a Tanner McKee injury), who is now a free agent.

With DTR released and McCord opting to sign a futures deal with the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia could be looking at McKee's successor in the later rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft or a veteran free agent like Jeff Driskel or Desmond Ridder, who would demand little in salary while providing high value as a QB3.

The Eagles have Hurts under contract for three more seasons, who, despite what some might say about his "limitations," has won a Super Bowl for the Eagles and owns a 63-29 record (playoffs included). With their franchise QB in place, the Eagles will remain one of the NFL's more stable franchises at the position for the foreseeable future, despite what outside voices say from the media and fans alike.
