NFL better not have ignored what Jalyx Hunt said about Eagles' offense

Oh yeah. We love to hear that.

There are a lot of nervous Philadelphia Eagles fans about the offense because they don't know what kind of unit they'll get in 2026.

It doesn't help that the fan base is traumatized by a first-time play caller again taking over the unit for the third time in four years, as Kevin Patullo really put a damper on everyone's feelings on young, inexperienced coordinators after his offense was ranked in the bottom 15 in every major offensive category last year. The buzz around new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, though, seems very different from what was being said about Patullo, as "wizard" has been thrown around quite often to describe the new coach.

Over the last two weeks at OTAs, offensive and defensive players have been impressed with what Mannion has done so far. Eagles edge rusher Jalyx Hunt joined in on the fun as he had seven words to describe this new-look offense with the media after their practice at OTAs.

“It’s going to be dangerous. Firepower everywhere.”

Mannion has all the weapons around him to make this offense run fast early in the season. Just based on his quarterback, Jalen Hurts, it should indicate what can happen with the unit, given Hurts's athleticism and his ability to place deep passes on the outside in the right spot.

A key for this offense will be what is going on with the wide receiver room, as they have so many weapons around them with DeVonta Smith taking his role as the number one guy. Smith is going to have quite the supporting cast with rookie Makai Lemon, Dontayvion Wicks, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, and Elijah Moore.

Even at tight end, where the room is currently very crowded, Dallas Goedert and rookie Eli Stowers lead the way. Those two together are going to make that position more dynamic than it has been since Zach Ertz left the franchise.

The running back room is also incredibly deep, with Saquon Barkley leading the way and Tank Bigsby backing him up. Philly's depth at the position is quite impressive, with Will Shipley, Dameon Pierce, and Elijah Mitchell making up a very good group.

There are zero excuses for Mannion to fail in Year 1 as his predecessor did in 2025, as Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has given him everything he needs to be great. Philly has proven that the leash is very, very short, and Mannion can't afford to fail in 2026.
