I guess Howie isn't doing that....

While there might be other trade news at the top of the Philadelphia Eagles' minds, fans are curious to see if there is another move they could be making at some point this summer.

Last year, there were reports that the Eagles called the Cleveland Browns about a potential trade for edge rusher Myles Garrett, as the Eagles were willing to send three first-round picks, but the Browns were not serious about making a move. Well, with the June 1 deadline here, speculation out of Cleveland is that the Browns are more willing to have conversations about Garrett, but ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter let Eagles fans know where they stand on the situation.

“I’m not expecting the Philadelphia Eagles to pursue (Myles Garrett)," Schefter said via 97.5 The Fanatic.

Eagles won't be in the conversation for Myles Garrett

In reality, while Garrett would obviously be a massive upgrade for the roster, the Eagles are pretty solid at edge rusher. They traded for Jonathan Greenard during the 2026 NFL Draft and have some great young talent at the position with Nolan Smith Jr. and Jalyx Hunt.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman seems to be more interested in getting more draft picks and developing the roster through their youth movement. It has worked out pretty well for him so far, with two Super Bowl appearances and a win in the last four years.

Garrett is a game changer after breaking the NFL record for sacks in a season at 23, as well as making seven career Pro Bowls, five first-team All-Pro selections, two second-team All-Pro selections, and winning two Defensive Player of the Year awards. Not many players have that kind of resume to work with, but the Eagles might not be in a position right now to get Garrett without mortgaging the future.

Philly has bigger issues to resolve anyway, with the safety position and offensive line depth being massive headaches the Eagles need to address. Garrett would be great, but the smart move is to look elsewhere.
