Everyone is fairly confident that the Philadelphia Eagles will trade wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots sometime after June 1, but plans are subject to change.
There is a team that many will have to keep in mind now: the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs just recently found out that wide receiver Rashee Rice will be in jail for 30 days after violating his probation when he tested positive for marijuana. Sports Illustrated NFL insider Albert Breer doesn't have full confidence in it, but he did bring up the idea of Brown potentially getting traded to the Chiefs, or at least Kansas City should think about it.
“I don’t believe that happens,” Breer said. “But I think if you’re the Chiefs you have to take a look at all of these things going forward.”
Could A.J. Brown be in a different shade of red instead of the New England Patriots'?
The real question is whether the Chiefs are willing to give up a first-round pick and more to go get Brown. They would be in a bidding war against the Patriots, and New England seems to have the right deal in place in general for the Eagles to consider after June 1.
Either way, Brown will not complain about playing for either the Chiefs or Patriots, as he would be the number one receiver for both teams. New England is probably closer to a Super Bowl right now, even if Kansas City still has Patrick Mahomes at quarterback.
From the Eagles' perspective, general manager Howie Roseman is always going to take every call that comes his way and listen to the offers. Roseman is most likely to stick with what the Patriots offer and go with that deal, as it is the best path forward.

The next couple of weeks, there's going to be more teams that get thrown into the Eagles-Brown trade drama, but ultimately, it still feels as though the Patriots are the only ones that will actually get him.
