This would be awesome.

This offseason has already gotten off to a rough start for the Philadelphia Eagles, from the offensive coordinator search drama to the loss of one of their top assistants on the coaching staff.

Former Eagles defensive backs coach Christian Parker took the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator job to kick off the offseason. While no Eagles fans could blame Parker for taking the job, it leaves such a bitter taste in every fan's mouth because it's the Cowboys, and no one wants them to have anyone good in Philly.

If only there was something the Eagles could do to get revenge on Dallas for taking away one of the best people in our building. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman might have an opportunity to do that in free agency.

Eagles might be able to steal Cowboys player in free agency

NFL Spin Zone writer Sayre Bedinger had a very interesting idea to present to Roseman and the Eagles on what they could do amid the drama surrounding whether wide receiver A.J. Brown would stay in Philly for 2026 or be traded. Bedinger suggested that the Eagles should consider signing Cowboys receiver George Pickens.

"If they let him test the market, they risk what could potentially be the Eagles' way of flipping the entire conference on its head with a couple of moves. Since the offseason is the time to live in the land of hypotheticals, hear me out on this one: What if the Eagles trade AJ Brown to the highest bidder, and sign George Pickens away from the Dallas Cowboys?

We've seen Howie Roseman make a move like this before when he signed Saquon Barkley away from the New York Giants, another division foe in the NFC East. But there's a little extra salt between the Eagles and Cowboys. Stealing from Dallas and getting a young playmaker like Pickens to pair with DeVonta Smith would very much be on-brand for Howie Roseman. And it would send the NFL world into a complete frenzy."

Pickens is coming off a career season, catching 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns in his first year with the Cowboys. He was selected to the Pro Bowl and was named second-team All-Pro.

A huge benefit to having Pickens is that he is just 24, while Brown is closing in on 30. That would help build a solid young nucleus at receiver with Pickens, DeVonta Smith, and whoever the Eagles select in the 2026 NFL Draft. It leaves the door open for Brown to be traded, and the Eagles can get a draft pick or two for him.

An idea like this a few months ago would have seemed crazy, but after what the Cowboys did to the Eagles in the regular season and with Parker, it only seems fair to not only get revenge, but improve the roster.
