There are a lot of position battles to monitor at Philadelphia Eagles training camp, but the QB2 battle seems to be getting the most attention.
During OTAs, Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee were rotating in the backup spot. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni addressed the position battle and who will get more reps. Sirianni made it clear that this will be a battle and both guys will get equal chances.
"Everything is a competition. You know, we'll continue to rotate with those guys with what we're doing, but that's not, you know, Andy's played a lot of football, and Andy's (Dalton) played a lot of good football. So that doesn't say anything about what we feel about Tanner (McKee), right? Tanner has been here for four years and has played some really good games, so consistent at practice with what he does and the type of player he is. So we're really excited about that."

It's hard not to think McKee will have the advantage since he's been with the Eagles over the last few years. He's more familiar with the receivers and tight ends, which gives him a leg up.
Dalton is a seasoned veteran who has made the Pro Bowl three times in his career. He has been in every kind of system and scheme before.
Neither quarterback really stood out at OTAs when the two rotated in and out. Both struggled to find some consistency while on the field. In their defense, though, starter Jalen Hurts also struggled to get into a flow as well.
There is a lot new with the offense that caused some of the early issues for all three quarterbacks. A new scheme and play-caller, Sean Mannion, played a part in that for the team.
This is an interesting battle that will take some time to figure out between the two. With the new weapons mixed in, this will come down to whoever can get more comfortable more quickly in the scheme. Whoever does that will make the team as a backup, but the other might end up getting cut.
Eagles rookie fifth-round pick Cole Payton is not going to compete for the backup job, but he surely will make the roster. Payton will be a third-stringer and will be used in the offense like Taysom Hill is in New Orleans.

It's going to be a long training camp between Dalton and McKee as they try to figure out who will be the backup. This is an important position battle, though, in case Hurts gets injured.
