Some knew who Philadelphia Eagles Chief Security Officer Dom DiSandro was before his sideline scuffle with Dre Greenlaw. He's the best at what he does. He's also why we never worried about those 'character concerns' involving guys like Jalen Carter. Trust us. 'Big Dom' does his research. Had Carter been a bad apple, DiSandro would have figured that out, and Jalen would have never been allowed in the NovaCare Complex.
Still, Chief security officers become household names when they get in shoving matches with guys who were once named to a Pro Football Writers Association's All-Rookie Team.
So, we all remember Dom's exit from a nationally televised game as his introduction to most of the NFL audience. We also know that's why he's been given a headset and a new title, 'Director of Gameday Coaching Operations'. Now, he can legally stand on the sideline, and based on a recent report, it's a good thing as he may have broken up a scuffle.

Wait! Big Dom broke up a near scuffle between Nick Sirianni and Zach Ertz?
Perhaps we're too casual about this, but we have made ourselves a promise. We will no longer be surprised or allow ourselves to be bent out of shape by ANYTHING Nick Sirianni does after a football game wraps.
Football is an emotional game. Coach Sirianni is an extremely emotional person whose emotions, shall we say, sometimes take over and get the best of them. Take Week 16's loss to the Washington Commanders for instance.
Longtime Eagles reporter and insider Jeff McLane reported during an episode of his Uncovering The Birds podcast that Nick and former Eagles/current Commanders tight end Zach Ertz had to be separated after the game ended by 'you know who'. Eventually, that same story found its way to the NBC news rooms and Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith put his spin on it.
Here's a quote from McLane:
"Neither the Eagles coach nor the Washington tight end wanted to get into what happened afterward in Landover, Md., on Sunday, but their brief dust-up saw Ertz take exception to a comment Sirianni made about his performance in the game, sources familiar with the incident told The Inquirer...
The two had to be separated by Eagles chief security officer Dom DiSandro, who then ushered Sirianni into the tunnel at Northwest Stadium.
'Both of us said ‘congrats’ to each other,' Sirianni told reporters after the game. “We just exchanged holiday pleasantries and kept it moving,” Ertz told The Inquirer not long after."
Something tells us there is more to the story than Nick and Zach let on, but let's all give thanks to Big Dom though! He was reportedly the guy who kept things from escalating.
Nope! You won't trick us this time. We refuse to take the bait on this one! We refuse to throw our guy Nick under the bus. There's no way we'll bash someone we love as much as we love Zach Ertz.
Hey, Zach is an emotional guy too. He isn't as emotional as NIck, but he can break down during a press conference from time to time.
Maybe there are still some lingering effects and/or bad feelings stemming from his exit from Philly. We get it. Zach loves us, and we love him. Let this be a lesson though. Our guy Dom is a lover, not a fighter.
We've changed our minds though. We will comment.
Come on Nick! This stuff can't keep happening!
