That three-game losing streak was rough for Philadelphia Eagles fans, but it was even worse for star quarterback Jalen Hurts.
In the past few weeks, there have been reports of Eagles players frustrated with Hurts' play, the signal caller asking the Eagles to stop running as many QB-designed runs, and his status as the team's starter being questioned. All of that was completely shut down for three hours in Week 15 after the Eagles shut out the Las Vegas Raiders 31-0.
Hurts finished with completing 12 of 15 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns with 39 rushing yards and zero turnovers. When the media asked a question about Hurts, his head coach, Nick Sirianni, praised the quarterback for doing one thing so well.
"He’s resilient," Sirianni said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "Always has been resilient and thought he was really good running the offense, being in command out there, just making good decisions with the football, good runs. He had a good game."
Hurts showed everyone what he can do
For one game, it appeared that everything Hurts was doing wrong over the last five games had just evaporated into thin air. He looked great running the football on plays designed for him, and his passes were nearly pinpoint accurate.
Hurts was like a completely different quarterback than the one Eagles fans have seen over the last month. There was also a familiar view of his play as something fans have seen in the previous four years before the 2025 campaign.
Everyone knows Hurts may not be like the other quarterbacks in the NFL, but he can still do things most quarterbacks can't. His athleticism makes him a threat in the running game, and he can buy himself time to make an accurate throw when he needs it.
The NFL sleeps on his arm talent that is clearly there, and some question his accuracy with the ball. While that was a problem over the last month, Hurts has been great with his decision-making and has thrown high-percentage completions since the previous year.

Even through all the hard times with more challenging questions being asked, the city of Philadelphia will always stand behind Hurts as the starting quarterback of the Eagles. He is precisely what the city wants out of their quarterback: tough, resilient, and someone fans can rely on to be a winner.
