Over the last two games, the Philadelphia Eagles have started to look a lot like the well-oiled machine that won the Super Bowl last season.
One of the biggest things about the Eagles that has looked better during the winning streak is their ability to protect the football and reduce penalties. While appearing on his weekly segment onĀ SportsRadio 94 WIP, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni responded to a question about the team's biggest focus for the rest of the season, saying he wants to play clean football.
"You pay a great attention to detail. You play together and you play with relentless effort. Those are things that we feel like we can just continue to get better at continue to grind on."
Eagles must continue to protect the football and cut down on turnovers
The Eagles' offense has not had a turnover in the last two games, with the only turnover coming from the special teams with Will Shipley fumbling on the opening kickoff against the Washington Commanders. Other than that, Philly has been solid at protecting the football and not making the same mistake again.
With the penalties, the Eagles have had a combined eight penalties for 96 yards in the last two games. While this is still a work in progress for the Birds, it looks better than what they have been doing earlier in the season.
The formula for winning is starting to work: the Eagles are running the football more and cutting down on mental mistakes. Playing fundamental defense has been a massive plus for this team, as the Eagles have held the Raiders and Commanders to under 300 yards combined in the last two contests.

As long as the Eagles continue to follow this formula the rest of the season and in the postseason, there's no reason why they shouldn't make a Super Bowl run, especially with Jalen Carter and Lane Johnson close to returning from injury.
