Nick Sirianni shuts down brewing narrative on Eagles no one brought up before

That's not the problem.

After winning the Super Bowl, it might be tough for a player to have the drive and motivation to do it all again.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is a perfect example who admitted in a social media post a few days after the Super Bowl title in February that winning it had worn off and wanted to dominated defensive backs on the field. This might be a rare case, but at least Brown was honest about his thoughts.

During the season, the Eagles have started 4-1, but it has not been smooth by any means. Sunday was the straw that broke the camel's back as the Eagles fell to the Denver Broncos 21-17 after blowing a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Everyone wants answers to what is going on with the Eagles and why they have struggled to hold a two-possession lead. The new narrative that the drive to win another Super Bowl isn't there is starting to creep in.

Nick Sirianni is not letting that old narrative get brought into his locker room

After the game, there was a question about whether the Eagles didn't have the same drive to win it all as they did last year. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was not interested in entertaining that thought and made sure the media knew that wasn't the case.

"I think that the guys have worked extremely hard in preparation. I see the same hunger that was there prior to us winning a Super Bowl. So, I don't think it's anything like that. Again, just the name of this game is always going to come down to detail. As far as us coaches and players, we weren't detailed enough today and they were a little more detailed than us."

Perhaps there are some players who might secretly feel that way, but it would be hard to believe that any football player truly has that mindset. These guys put their bodies on the line each week to win the big prize. Honestly, if anyone had that mindset, they probably wouldn't play in the NFL.

The Eagles didn't look great on Sunday, but to go from their first loss of the year to questioning if they want to win is excessive. They have a chance to shut down that narrative against the New York Giants on Thursday.
