The Philadelphia Eagles remain one of six teams that remain undefeated through the first three games of the season, and as they get ready to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday, Jalen Hurts and company will be faced with their second consecutive week of playing against an undefeated team.
Both Tampa and Philadelphia currently own 3-0 records, but the similarity between all six remaining undefeated teams is extremely evident. As teams get ready for Week 4, X user "TheSFNiners" posted a graphic showing the combined records of all six teams opponents during their undefeated streak. The Eagles opponents so far have owned 4-5 record, while the Bucs opponents own a 1-8 record.
How the Eagles proved their worth through three games
While the season is extremely early, fans and critics have to peel back some of the numbers to give a more accurate picture of who the Eagles have defeated this early in the year. In Week 1, the Eagles beat a Dallas Cowboys team that, despite trading Micah Parsons, still managed to finish 7-10 in 2024 with backup quarterback Cooper Rush starting eight games (4-4) the previous season.
In Week 2, the Eagles defeated the 2024 AFC champs Chiefs, who, despite their shortcomings, still roster a competitive roster led by Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. Finally, the Eagles took down the 2-0 Los Angeles Rams in Week 3, which came down to the wire and was sealed by Jordan Davis' blocked field goal, delivering Philadelphia their first defeat.
While the Bucs have had a string of impressive wins and fourth quarter comebacks led by Baker Mayfield, Tampa has made its 3-0 record a bit more difficult than it probably needed to be. A week one victory against the Falcons (1-2), the Jets (0-3), and the Houston Texans (0-3), all of which needed Baker Mayfield heroics to earn the victory.

While no one can default either team for strength of schedule or lack of it, a couple of NFL mantras are that you are what your record says you are. With both teams owning a record of 3-0, NFL fans are primed to see one of the premier matchups this week, full of "Tush Pushes", excellent defenses, and Baker Mayfield heroics.
