With multiple candidates getting brought in by the Philadelphia Eagles for interviews tied to the offensive coordinator opening, one of the candidates fans wanted to be brought in finally got it on the calendar.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll is expected to interview for the Eagles' offensive coordinator job. Daboll took the Giants to the playoffs in his first year as the head coach, but was fired in the middle of the 2025 season.

There are several connections between Daboll and the Eagles. The two big ones are that Daboll coached Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts when the two were in Alabama together and coached running back Saquon Barkley with the Giants.

Brian Daboll isn't a slam dunk to land Eagles OC job, but is a top candidate

Daboll is hoping to land a head coaching job, with seven still up for grabs. So far, he has interviewed with the Tennessee Titans for their head coach opening and has also interviewed for offensive coordinator jobs.

The Eagles have reportedly included Daboll as one of their top candidates for the offensive coordinator job. Philly has also expressed interest in Mike McDaniel and Charlie Weis Jr., but has not scheduled interviews with those guys.

Daboll must be considered as the Eagles need someone who can help Hurts develop as a passer. In the past, Daboll has proven to be able to do that with quarterbacks like Josh Allen, Daniel Jones, and Jaxson Dart.

Philly wants someone with experience as an offensive coordinator and play-calling experience. They will have full control of the offense with no interference from Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni.

This will be the one interview every Eagles fan will monitor, and see how it goes, as Daboll makes all the sense in the world to win the offensive coordinator job.
