Everyone is going to be talking about the big trade that occured that the Philadelphia Eagles ended up missing out on.
The Baltimore Ravens made a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders as they acquired five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Maxx Crosby. Las Vegas received a 2026 first-round pick and a 2027 first-round pick as part of the deal.
While that is one trade situation that has been resolved, what does it all mean for the Eagles now that one big trade is off the table? Specifically, the questions have all circled back to Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown and whether he will be traded now that this move has happened.
How Maxx Crosby trade affects A.J. Brown's trade talks with Eagles
First off, the Ravens can pretty much be assumed to be out of the running for Brown since the Eagles want a first-round pick, which Baltimore no longer has. The Ravens were considered a finalist to land Brown, but that is no longer the case.
That only really leaves the New England Patriots and potentially the Los Angeles Chargers. A surprise twist is that the Chargers have shown interest in trading for Brown with their roommates, the Los Angeles Rams, also calling about Brown, but ultimately dropping out.
Realistically, it's a one-horse race with the Patriots. They have shown the most interest since Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel coached Brown with the Tennessee Titans from 2019 through 2021. New England also just cut Stefon Diggs, so they are desperate for a new WR1 for their young franchise quarterback, Drake Maye.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has stood his ground on needing a first- and second-round pick, with a player potentially involved as well, for Brown. Roseman knows the risk they are taking with the $20 million loss against the cap from trading Brown before June 1, so they want to be compensated for it.

The timeline for something to happen should be before the new league year begins, so the Eagles can plan the rest of the offseason and get some deals done, like re-signing Jaelan Phillips. Until then, Eagles fans will just have to sit and wait for something, anything to happen.
