The Philadelphia Eagles have all kinds of positions to worry about, but the quarterback situation has gotten interesting over the last two weeks at OTAs.
For one, all eyes are on starter Jalen Hurts and how he is handling new Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion's system. After that, it's about the backup job between Tanner McKee and Andy Dalton, which right now seems like Dalton has the advantage. Eagles quarterback coach Parks Frazier opened up about how they are handling the snaps between McKee and Dalton, as well as making sure Hurts and rookie fifth-round pick Cole Payton get their reps.
"When you got four quarterbacks that you really believe in in the room, the hardest thing is to get them enough reps," Frazier said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "Obviously, Jalen's got to get the reps that he needs, and then those two guys just switching them out to make sure that we're trying to balance that as even as possible."
Eagles are dealing with a backup quarterback situation that will pour into training camp
Early indications at OTAs through two weeks are that the play at quarterback has been inconsistent. Everyone knows about Hurts' first-pass interception after the A.J. Brown trade that had fans talking, but Dalton and McKee weren't exactly lighting the world on fire with their play either.
In the one practice the media was at for OTAs last week, Dalton performed better than he did in the first week and took more snaps at QB2. McKee has been a mixed bag with his performances and seems to be in a deadlock battle with Dalton at the moment.
While there hasn't been much about Payton through the first two weeks of OTAs, that's going to be expected. He might end up on the bench, developing and learning over the next two seasons as he looks to become an NFL quarterback, with potentially some extra responsibilities as well.

This quarterback situation will be one to watch more closely at training camp than in previous years, given the uncertainty it brings. Dalton and McKee are going to have an incredible battle to see who can come out on top.
