The Philadelphia Eagles continue to work at warp speed as they are closing in on having all their draft picks under contract.

Exactly one week after the 2026 NFL Draft happened, the Eagles got contracts done with first-round pick Makai Lemon, fifth-round pick Cole Payton, and seventh-round picks Cole Wisniewski and Keyshawn James-Newby. The Eagles themselves confirmed that two more players can be added to the list as they signed sixth-round pick Micah Morris and seventh-round pick Uar Bernard.

Morris will be seen as the backup guard for the time being, and Bernard is set to play football for the first time in his life. The Eagles have two more draft picks that still need to be signed: second-round pick Eli Stowers and third-round pick Markel Bell.

Eagles have signed six out of the eight draft picks

This is very quick for the Eagles to get this many players from the draft signed and ready to go. It's a good sign that the team is showing up for the first of two days of rookie minicamp, where drafted and undrafted rookies will participate.

Stowers and Bell were always going to be expected as the last two draft picks signed. They have a more complicated situation where the Eagles might have to wait to see how other teams handle their Day 2 selections. Last year, the Eagles' last signed draft pick was safety Andrew Mukuba, and that didn't happen until right up to training camp.

It appears that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is looking to avoid that at all costs. So far, he's on the right track as he got the most important one under contract: Lemon.

The Eagles now have to focus on getting Stowers and Bell done soon, so this doesn't have to drag on throughout the summer.
