Well, the Philadelphia Eagles are working a little extra hard on getting their rookies solidified on contracts before OTAs.
Eagles first-round pick, former USC wide receiver Makai Lemon, was the first to sign a four-year, fully guaranteed contract with Philly. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter added that three more draft picks have signed: fifth-round pick former North Dakota State quarterback Cole Payton, seventh-round pick former Texas Tech safety Cole Wisniewski, and seventh-round pick former New Mexico edge rusher Keyshawn James-Newby.
This will leave the Eagles with four more draft picks needing to be signed. Last year, it was the second-round pick, Andrew Mukuba, who was the last player to sign before training camp.
Eagles sign three more draft picks with half the 2026 class under contract
Payton is expected to be the future backup for the Eagles, but could also be used in other offensive packages. Wisniewski and James-Newby are not guaranteed roster spots, as they will have to compete in training camp for a spot on the 53-man roster.
This is fairly quick for the Eagles, as they have already signed more draft picks than any other team from the 2026 class. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is moving quickly to make sure he can get his rookies under contract and ready to go for the new season.
It may take second-round pick Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers and third-round pick Miami offensive tackle Markel Bell longer to finalize contracts, since Day 2 picks are usually all over the place with contract details. Don't be surprised if they are two of the last ones to sign.

The next batch of signings could be the rest of the Day 3 picks, as well as officially the undrafted free agents signing with Philly. It's clear that Roseman and his staff are working overtime to make sure the rookies are taken care of.
