Howie week has officially kicked off, and rumors are now ramping up at a frantic speed with the NFL Draft set to commence.
Often times in the build-up to the draft, misdirection can be in play, false rumors can be floated, and a whole bunch of hearsay can flood the zone. Yet one name that has steadily been mentioned amidst all the noise in connection to Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has been LSU standout linebacker Harold Perkins Jr.
KPRC2 NFL Reporter Aaron Wilson recently shared that Philadelphia once again touched base with the versatile linebacker from the Bayou.
"Harold Perkins Jr. Zoom interview with hometown Texans, who have displayed interest in him thoughout the NFL Draft process. Visited several teams, including Steelers, Chargers. Met formally (NFL Combine) with Saints, Cowboys, Eagles. Interest in Perkins consistently from Packers, Eagles, Chargers, Commanders, Steelers, Texans, Patriots, Buccaneers, Raiders."

Wilson has been providing plenty of updates on Perkins Jr., also highlighting the impact his electric Pro Day showing could have on his rising draft stock:
"Harold Perkins Jr. is the fastest linebacker in the NFL Draft with a 4.38 40-yard dash at Pro Day.
Played edge, off-ball linebacker, safety, special teams for Tigers: 17 career sacks, 35 1/2 tackles for losses. Three interceptions, four sacks last season."
An ACL injury in 2024 previously clouded the exact draft outlook for Perkins, who checks in at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, but a return to full health has placed him anywhere in the second-round to fourth-round neighborhood. The production while at LSU speaks to his talents, and the real key here in his background is his versatility, as his ability to make an impact at multiple spots could be music to the ears of defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
Similar to Jihaad Campbell, who has played both inside and outside at the edge, Perkins Jr. would gift Fangio with a swiss-army knife playmaker to deploy in a number of ways. Different looks and packages could suit a talent like Perkins, who has also played safety, and Fangio is just the type of coordinator who could maximize his diverse skillset.

With Roseman recently showing he has no qualms with targeting high-impact linebackers early in the draft, the name Perkins continues to be connected to Philly, making him a fascinating prospect to track once the draft arrives.
