A.J. Brown is a topic that will never die until the Philadelphia Eagles decide whether to trade him away or keep him.

Everyone seems to be leaning on the idea that this trade should happen for the Eagles, but is it the best decision for him? Former NFL player and Amazon Prime commentator Richard Sherman answered the question on his podcast as to whether Brown would be better somewhere else or staying in Philly and making it work.

"It depends on where he goes. If you're looking to move him to a team that's a contender and he becomes an obvious number one, then sure. I think it makes sense to move him. If you talked about sending him to Green Bay that has a quarterback stability, has talent around, but no true number one receiver, sure that would make sense. Is that somewhere A.J. Brown will want to go? I don't think so. I think if you're talking about playing winning football, he stays in Philadelphia and just tries to weather the storm. I mean, maybe Buffalo. Maybe he'd get the targets and be the number one, but do you want to go to Buffalo? The Patriots just picked up Romeo Doubs, but I'm sure they still have room, and would you want to go there and play in New England? Do you want to go to Miami, and have a good time and maybe win a couple of football games? If he would have traded him to the Rams, that would have been a very interesting scenario with him and Matthew Stafford. I mean, wow. You just start to explore that that thought, so now you start to nod your head like okay. Alright now. We can go what ifs all day long, but are any of those situations better than the situation he is now in terms of winning football, and I don't think they are."

Teams like the Rams and Patriots make the most sense for the Eagles to pursue, since they have the draft capital to make the trade Philly wants. The asking price is a first- and second-round pick, but teams have been hesitant to give the Eagles that. Los Angeles has also raised concerns about Brown's knee in the future.

Buffalo and Green Bay are intriguing teams to trade with as well, but those would be tougher to get done. The Packers like their first-round pick, and the Bills already traded their second-round pick as part of a trade with the Chicago Bears for wide receiver DJ Moore.

As for Miami, that makes zero sense for Brown and the Dolphins in general. Miami is eating a ton of contracts and won't have the money to give him, and they value their draft picks since they don't have a lot of money. It doesn't make sense for Brown either, as they are not a winner and wouldn't be happy with that team early on.

If winning is all that matters to Brown, the Eagles still make the most sense for him, as they have been to the Super Bowl twice in the last four seasons. He may not get those opportunities unless it's maybe the Rams or Patriots. Eagles fans would rather have him try to make it work in Philly than move on.
