Of course, when the 2026 NFL Draft concluded for the Philadelphia Eagles, all the attention went to the top picks like Makai Lemon, Eli Stowers, and Markel Bell.

Those selections were seen as the first steps for the team to rebuild the offense and getting the unit younger. Philly did not pick any defensive players until the seventh round when three were taken.

Two other offensive players were selected by the Eagles: quarterback Cole Payton and offensive guard Micah Morris. While Payton is not expected to be an impact player for multiple years, Morris is a fascinating draft pick to look at for the Eagles.

Could Micah Morris end up being a great player on the Eagles?

Morris had quite the resume at Georgia, winning two national championships with the team and earning second-team All-SEC selection last year. During the 2025 campaign, Pro Football Focus graded him out at a 73.1, ranking 44th out of 686 interior offensive linemen. He only allowed four pressures and two quarterback hits in 369 pass-blocking snaps.

The strength of Morris' game is pass blocking, as PFF gave him an 81 grade. While he might have graded lower as a run blocker, he was actually still graded pretty high in that category.

What makes Morris a fascinating player to watch out for with the Eagles is that he plays a position that could go in a ton of different directions. Left guard Landon Dickerson almost retired this offseason due to injuries, and right guard Tyler Steen does not have the full trust of the fan base.

There are several avenues where Morris could actually see the field for the Eagles in the next year or two. For 2026, he will most likely be on the bench learning from Dickerson and the rest of the line. That would be the right choice for Philly not to rush the young man out there.

In college, Morris showed that he can be an elite pass blocker and, with some time, can be a great run blocker as well. One good thing about being on the Eagles is that every lineman on the roster is great at run blocking, so Morris is learning from the right people.

The future is an interesting one for Morris, but he has already shown that while he may not make an impact in 2026, he can be a key piece to the puzzle for the Eagles.
