Long renowned for landing imposing trench talent in all rounds of NFL Draft action, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has drawn plenty of praise for his selection of University of Georgia guard Micah Morris in the sixth round this past draft weekend.

ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates highlighted his five favorite selections by each round, circling Morris in round six.

"The Eagles have a track record with offensive linemen that speaks for itself, which alone piqued my interest with this pick. Morris drew divergent opinions from scouts during the predraft process, as some were not convinced that he could convert his unique traits into more consistent play. But at 6-foot-5, 334 pounds, he really did jump off the screen in college with effortless power when he engages on a defender. If the Eagles can get steadier play from one snap to the next, he can carve out a role as a reserve lineman."

Eagles have promising future on offensive line beyond 2026

The Kingsland, Georgia, product is a punisher on the interior who can absolutely put defenders in the dirt. As Yates cited, though, consistency is the underlying key. He showed plenty of flashes throughout his tenure in Athens, moving bodies when he's locked in and fully engaged. Two national championships, along with second-team All-SEC honors in his final season, also exhibit the fact that when firing on all cylinders, Morris can excel on the biggest stage.

Keeping Morris performing at an optimal level is a crucial task that now falls to first-year offensive line coach Chris Kuper. As a former NFL guard himself, Kuper has a pair of fascinating rookie linemen to coach up, with Morris on the interior and the 'human skyscraper' Markel Bell at tackle.

There's critical development on the horizon for both Morris and Bell, as each is far from finished. Both possess incredible physical promise, yet the keys to their long-term success will hinge largely on the impact and guidance that Kuper provides.
