Good thing we know that now.

Philadelphia Eagles fans got to see firsthand how the rookies could potentially look after two days at the rookie minicamp.

All eyes were on first-round pick Makai Lemon as he was seen flying around the field, impressing reporters with his route running and looking to be well ahead of the competition. CBS Sports writer Carter Bahns shared one thing he learned about the Eagles from their rookie minicamp.

"The Eagles mostly added depth through the draft. The greatest potential for a rookie-year impact lies with wide receiver Makai Lemon, whose selection at No. 20 overall only added to the expectation that Philadelphia will trade A.J. Brown before the offseason is done."

Eagles fans already knew that going into and leaving rookie minicamp

Brown is unlikely to be on the Eagles' roster going into the 2026 season. It's the sole reason why the Eagles signed two wide receivers in free agency, traded for Dontayvion Wicks, and selected Lemon in the draft.

There will be a lot of pressure on Lemon to step up and perform well for the Eagles, since the team is making a big commitment to him. He plays in the slot, unlike Brown, but the Philly fan base still wants to see an early return on investment in Lemon.

Lemon looks to already have everything the Eagles need in a wide receiver with his clean route running and his great hands. He does not like his size indicates as he can play bigger and while he isn't the fastest, he will get open and make the catch.

Pairing Lemon with DeVonta Smith is going to be a good combo to watch for the Eagles in 2026. Lemon will have a chance to learn from a guy who probably should have been a number one wide receiver in the NFL by now, but Smith will get his shot to prove how good he is.

The wide receiver room is in much better shape because Lemon makes them better. Philly has no excuses in 2026 as the passing game should be the best it has been in a few years.
