Philadelphia Eagles fans are relieved that wide receiver A.J. Brown and the whole saga are finally over, as he was traded to the New England Patriots.
Brown enters a Patriots team that needed a number-one receiver and is relieved to have their game with the Eagles, just happy to be done with the drama and move forward with DeVonta Smith as WR1. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has been over the moon about Brown and shared what he said to his new receiver.
“Welcome to New England… It should be some fun. How’d you feel out there today? Alright? Should be fun, man. We’re gonna have some fun. Whatever you want… Just let me know what you want, I’m here to give you the rock.”
Drake Maye should enjoy the honeymoon now with A.J. Brown
Eagles fans know this story all too well regarding the excitement of Brown being in a new place. He dominated during his four years with the Eagles as he made two Pro Bowls and was selected to three second-team All-Pro teams.
The problems began in 2024, when the Eagles' passing game started to "struggle" as Brown's stats declined amid fewer targets. While there is probably more to the story, Brown and Jalen Hurts's relationship took a hit despite the Super Bowl win, and it only got worse.
Last year was a nightmare for the Eagles and their fans as Brown started sharing cryptic posts and publicly complaining about the team's offensive struggles. While most of what he said was 100% true, he created unnecessary drama that made things worse in Philly, as they failed to repeat as Super Bowl champions and were bounced in the Wild Card round by the San Francisco 49ers.
That 49ers game was a perfect summary of all the frustration that came with the Eagles, with head coach Nick Sirianni seen screaming at Brown after one drive and Brown not talking to the media as he stormed out of the locker room after the game. It was in that moment that the Eagles and Brown knew that it was over.

While there were some great moments with Brown, he's now the Patriots' problem, and the Eagles can finally have some peace and quiet without the drama of a diva receiver not getting his way when it is unnecessary to complain.
