There is so much on the line for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2026, with a lot of pressure being put on their young offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion, who is completely changing the offensive scheme in Philly.

Mannion has a chance to play hero in Philadelphia, but he also has a ton of changes to deal with as the Eagles got four new wide receivers in hopes that one of them will be a proper replacement for A.J. Brown whenever he gets traded. Bleacher Report writer Brad Gagnon shared one sentence for each NFL team describing their dream scenario for 2026, with the Eagles all about rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon stepping up.

"Makai Lemon seamlessly replaces A.J. Brown and the experienced Eagles get a jumpstart from new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion in a return to the Super Bowl."

Can Makai Lemon help Sean Mannion out in 2026 as a replacement for A.J. Brown?

The expectations are high for Lemon, as he will be playing out of the slot and will play a crucial role in this passing attack, which will look very different from the past. Mannion is going to spread the defense out with multiple receivers running different routes, which should create an opening for Lemon.

DeVonta Smith is going to be the true number one receiver in this offense, but Lemon needs to be WR2. The Eagles have insurance with Marquise Brown, Dontayvion Wicks, and Elijah Moore that can step up and help out.

Lemon has to be the guy to get the job done more, though, since he is a first-round pick and the Eagles are investing a lot of time and money into him. He showed in college that he can do it all as a receiver, but he has to make that translate to the pro game.

Mannion is on a very short leash, like every other offensive coordinator who has coached the Eagles, so he's got to prove he can develop Lemon into a full-time starter right away. If this doesn't happen, Philadelphia will see a long unemployment line coming out of the Eagles' facility.
