Every Philadelphia Eagles fan, despite being upset at not seeing their team in the Super Bowl, kept an eye on their former players playing for the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

The top player everyone in Philly watched was former defensive tackle Milton Williams, who ended up recording a sack and two tackles for loss in the Patriots' game. One other former Eagle for New England who played well with wide receiver Mack Hollins.

In fact, Hollins was the Patriots' leading receiver, catching four passes for 78 yards and a critical 35-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 19-7. It ultimately was not enough for New England as the Seahawks prevailed in the Super Bowl 29-13.

Mack Hollins shined on the biggest stage in the Super Bowl

The Eagles selected Hollins in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, as he was more of a reserve player on offense and special teams, but his 226 yards and one touchdown in the regular season helped Philly win the Super Bowl in his rookie year. A groin injury in 2018 kept him out of the whole season.

Hollins returned in 2019 and played in 12 games for the Eagles, but after 10 catches for 125 yards, he was released and finished the season with the Miami Dolphins. After being in Philly for nearly three years, Hollins has since played for five teams, usually as a WR3 or WR4.

The last four years have been good for Hollins, as he has truly become a WR3 and has played on strong teams like the Buffalo Bills and Patriots. He's coming off a 550-yard and two-touchdown season for New England, the second-best of his career.

Eagles fans never really got to see the full potential of Hollins, but he has made a nice career for himself and is now a popular figure in the NFL, best known for his hilarious outfits before games. He's also been a good, reliable receiver in the league, and while Eagles fans hoped to see more from him in Philly, they can't help but be happy with the player he has become.
