Nothing would make the Philadelphia Eagles fan base more nervous than to hear that their NFC East opponents are getting better in some capacity.
The Eagles have owned the NFC East division title two years in a row, the first time that has happened in two decades. Philly is hoping to keep that going, but the rest of the division has improved their coaching staffs and rosters during the offseason, so there is concern about going for the three-peat.
One concern is that the quarterback play is only going to get better with young quarterbacks like Washington Commanders' Jayden Daniels and New York Giants' Jaxson Dart entering the prime of their careers and Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott putting up the best numbers of his career. Eagles fans might have to watch themselves as 2026 could end up being the year of the NFC East emerging at quarterback.
NFC East quarterback predictions are not good for the Eagles
NFL Spin Zone's Lou Scataglia shared his way-too-early quarterback predictions, and the two he offered happened to be both about NFC East quarterbacks. The first one from Scataglia is Dart turning into one of the league's best dual-threat signal callers.
"Jaxson Dart clearly has the goods, and it seems like his rookie season was definitely watered down a bit due to his not being able to protect himself. He was hurt multiple times, and playing a cleaner brand of football in 2026 is going to be huge.
Dart is already a dual-threat quarterback, and in a year two in which the offensive line was shored up, a veteran head coach was brought in, and the playmakers were elevated, Dart is primed to emerge as one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league."
There were flashes from Dart last year that showed how good he can be as unfortently, one of those great performances happened to be against the Eagles in their first meeting. He threw for 198 yards and rushed for another 58 yards and two touchdowns as the Giants beat the Eagles 34-17.
The other prediction is for Prescott, who came off one of the best statistical seasons of his career last year. Scataglia has Prescott finishing in the top three in MVP voting.
"Given how much change the Dallas Cowboys have enacted on defense this offseason, it's hard to imagine that this unit does not improve a good bit. Even if the defense is average, the high-flying Cowboys offense is going to be able to take advantage of that improved unit.
And we've seen Dak Prescott as one of the most prolific passers in the league before. With George Pickens and Javonte Williams both back in the mix for 2026, and CeeDee Lamb still being a thing, a likely improved Cowboys defense is going to allow the offense to thrive, and we'll eventually see Prescott finish in the top-3 in the MVP voting."
Prescott has become the king of garbage yards, with his stats added when the team is down and losing. The difference from this prediction is that Dallas actually wins games, which hopefully doesn't happen.

These predictions would be a nightmare for the Eagles, so if Precott and Dart end up killing it, that might put Philly in a bad spot in 2026.
