Cornerback is an interesting position for the Philadelphia Eagles, as there are some decisions on what to do with it at the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Eagles signed two veterans in free agency at cornerback with Riq Woolen and Jonathan Jones to join All-Pros Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Woolen is expected to be the CB2, but the question is whether he'll end up being a long-term solution, or just a one-year rental like Adoree' Jackson was last year.

Eagles writer Anthony DiBona reported that Wake Forest cornerback Karon Prunty has met with Philly multiple times throughout the process. Last year, Prunty racked up 40 tackles, eight pass deflections, one sack, one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

Karon Prunty is well worth a draft pick for the Eagles

Prunty is an interesting prospect for the Eagles to consider, as he's 6-foot-1 and can play tough coverage. He has performed well in his offseason workouts, running a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.

The Eagles have not been shy about picking cornerbacks over the last two years, with Mitchell and DeJean selected in 2024 and Mac McWilliams last year. For Philly to take Prunty would be in line with what Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has talked about with the cornerback position.

Roseman has said he is looking for depth at the position and isn't afraid to keep adding, even if fans think they have enough. He proved that last season when he traded for Michael Carter II, Jaire Alexander, and Jakorian Bennett.

The Eagles are going to stay aggressive in the secondary to try to avoid what happened last year with Jackson and Kelee Ringo's struggles at CB2. Prunty at least gives them long-term stability at cornerback.
