Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley has high praise for a scout team linebacker who may have a chance to make his Eagles debut in Week 18 against the Washington Commanders.

Chance Campbell has spent the whole 2025 season on the Eagles' practice squad waiting for an opportunity. He will be waiting, along with 15 other members of the Eagles' practice squad, for the coveted "elevation," in which Philadelphia plans to use the majority of its reserves against the Commanders in the 2025 season finale.

Barkley made sure to point out Campbell as one of the best players he has played against in practice.

“See this m**********r right there?" Saquon Barkley said, pointing to the locker room of LB Chance Campbell via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "Really good. Like, probably one of the best scout team players I’ve ever gone against in my life.”

Chance Campbell might get first shot at playing in Week 18

While Campbell hasn't seen the field at all during the regular season, he's obviously made enough of an impact behind the scenes to earn praise from one of the NFL's best players. Campbell has dealt with injuries throughout his professional career since graduating from Ole Miss in 2022.

He was placed on injured reserve in 2022, ending his rookie campaign. In 2023, he bounced back and forth between the active roster and practice squad before an injury ended his season after four games. In 2024, during training camp, he suffered a torn ACL, which once again ended his season prematurely.

For a young player who has dealt with so much adversity to be able not only to feel validated for the work he's done on the field but also remain healthy for the first time in four years is probably one of the more underrated accomplishments during the Eagles' 2025 season.

Campbell has appeared in four NFL games in his career so far, as he patiently awaits whether game five will be in Week 18. The Eagles have yet to announce who they are elevating for their Week 18 finale.
