The Philadelphia Eagles are kicking off Week 3 of training camp with a wave of roster moves that will affect the 53-man roster.
On social media, the team announced it signed defensive tackle David Blay, running back Ja'Quinden Jackson, and outside linebacker Tarron Jackson. They are also placing running back Elijah Mitchell on injured reserve and are waiving offensive guard Jaeden Roberts and tight end Dae'Quan Wright.
Tarron Jackson returns to the Eagles after the team drafted him in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He played three seasons in Philly, racking up 18 tackles, two tackles for loss, one quarterback hit, one sack, and one forced fumble in 21 games.

What a disappointment to not see what Mitchell could do in this offense. He was a sleeper to challenge for the RB3 job, but getting hurt over the weekend summarized how his career has been over the last few years.
The signing of Tarron Jackson will be interesting, as he was always more of a role player. Jackson didn't play much in his last two years in Philly, so what his role will be on the team is a big question.
Roberts and Wright were interesting undrafted rookies who might have had a shot at potentially making the roster if things had gone differently. Roberts's camp injury cost him his job. An injury cost Roberts, and Wright was stuck in a crowded tight end room and was going to get playing time.
Blay just gives the defensive line some much-needed depth, as the Eagles most likely won't play Jalen Carter or Jordan Davis in the preseason. Ja'Quinden Jackson is in to replace Mitchell, but faces an uphill battle, as he has to beat out Will Shipley and Dameon Pierce for the RB3 job.
This is just the beginning of the moves the Eagles are going to have to make throughout training camp. At least the team has not had any serious injuries that would affect the regular season for the moment.

Watch for more moves to be made by Eagles general manager Howie Roseman in the upcoming weeks. Trades have been hinted at potentially happening, so don't be surprised if Roseman starts getting hot and heavy on that front.
