Two weeks of training camp have been completed for the Philadelphia Eagles, and now there are some new questions and some that appear to be carrying over.

The Eagles got into pads for the first time, and the offense made good progress despite not having some of their top receivers, DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon, as well as Lane Johnson for most of the week. Philly's defense continues to shine bright and is on pace to be an elite unit entering the 2026 season.

Entering Week 3 of training camp, things are about to become more intense with their first preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens at the end of the week. By the time they complete that Ravens game, four questions need to be answered by then.

Biggest questions Eagles must answer before Week 3 of training camp ends

When is Makai Lemon actually going to practice?

Lemon's hamstring injury has kept him out for most of training camp, which isn't exactly getting Eagles fans to hit the panic button, but they are starting to be concerned. Lemon is missing important reps that are huge for his development, leaving some to wonder whether he will make as much of an impact in the 2026 season. A return to practice and playing in the preseason game would be a good way to end those worries.

Is Markel Bell progressing enough to be considered Lane Johnson's replacement?

Johnson announced that 2026 is probably his last year, putting more pressure on Bell to develop and be on the right path to take over the right tackle position next year, potentially. Bell has had a really solid training camp so far, with moments in the practices showing that he's got the goods to be that successor. Another solid week of camp, with a good preseason showing, will ease Eagles fans' minds about the future.

Should Darius Cooper be considered WR3 on the Eagles?

Returning to the wide receiver position, with concerns that Lemon may not be 100% ready for the regular season if the hamstring injury keeps being a problem, raises questions about who should replace him. Hollywood Brown seems like the logical choice, but Cooper might be having the best camp of any Eagles player this year. Cooper has Jalen Hurts' full confidence, so the real question is whether the second-year Tarleton State product should actually be WR3 on this team.

Who is winning the position battle between Michael Carter II and Marcus Epps?

The pleasant surprise of training camp is how good Michael Carter II and Marcus Epps have been at safety, making the starting choice harder because they're both playing well. Most people saw safety as the biggest weakness on the team entering training camp, but both guys are making a ton of plays. It would be nice to know who has the edge at winning the starting job by the end of the week, though.
