Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had a decent season for the team in 2025, but might have shown why they never really trusted him as an elite starter.

Hurts completed 64.8% of his passes for 3,224 yards and a career-high 25 touchdown passes to six interceptions, adding eight rushing scores on the season. While the stats show a good season on paper, there were far too many times when he disappeared in the second half, including two games in which he didn't complete a single pass.

This is a big offseason for Hurts, with more questions surrounding him than ever, with some even thinking he might not be long for the starting job in Philly with another season like 2025. ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler appeared on Get Up, where he gave a report on the A.J. Brown trade rumor situation, but added some interesting commentary about Hurts.

"One question around the league is do they draft a quarterback maybe in Day 2? Apply a little bit of pressure on Jalen Hurts who I believe is at a crossroads right now after the way last season went and Jalen Hurts was drafted in the second round. Eventually replaced Carson Wentz who just got a massive deal the offseason before. Does that same thing now happen to Jalen Hurts eventually?"

Could the Eagles find a replacement for Jalen Hurts in the near future?

This was a topic in the middle of the season as a real possibility that the Eagles could look at a quarterback in the second round of the NFL Draft. It would be way too close to the Wentz situation when Hurts replaced him.

The situation with Hurts is way different from that of Wentz, as Hurts has won six playoff games, been to two Super Bowls, and has won one. Wentz had injury concerns and never won a playoff game, as it was Nick Foles who won the Eagles' playoff games during Wentz's time in Philly.

Even if football fans aren't fans of Hurts for whatever reason, he is a winner. He has won 69% of his starts, which is something most quarterbacks can say.

Roseman has been very vocal about the Eagles being a quarterback factory, so it wouldn't be a total surprise if the team selects one. But if one is picked in the first or second round, there will be a ton of drama in Philly.
