Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts still has a lot of work to do in order to have everyone on his side again after last season, but not everyone is out on him.

Baffling to Eagles fans, many in the media this offseason have been critical of Hurts, discussing his limitations and that he is not an elite quarterback. It seemed to have all started with an ESPN article co-written by NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler, which cited sources saying that Hurts was not coachable and changing plays.

Fowler published a new article featuring NFL executives, coaches, and scouts sharing their rankings of the league's top quarterbacks and their comments. Hurts did not make the top 10 and was an honorable mention, with one coach still believing in him.

"I know it has been up-and-down, but I'm still betting on the Super Bowl credentials, the intangibles and the toughness."-- AFC offensive coach

Jalen Hurts has a believer in someone within the NFL

The completion percentage last year was down from previous seasons, as he only completed 64.8% of his passes, the lowest since 2021. Hurts was still able to throw for 3,224 yards and a career-high 25 touchdowns to just six interceptions.

Those limitations that everyone talks about with Hurts are noticeable. There are times when he can't make all the throws and is picky about where he throws it on the field.

Hurts is a proven winner, though, and a great athlete that those in the media forget about. When the lights are at their brightest and the team needs him to make a play, he always produces in the biggest moments. Look at the two Super Bowls he was in; those were his best performances of his career since the Eagles could not run the ball and had to lean on him to make the plays.

Most people in the media like to pick on Hurts because they know it will get a reaction from fans, viewers, and readers. That's a shame since it pushes a false narrative about a guy who has been consistently good as a starter, winning over 69% of his starts in the regular season.

His resume speaks for itself, but many continue to doubt Hurts' abilities. Eagles fans hope 2026 will change people's minds about him, and he can get back into the conversation about being a top-10 quarterback.
