It's becoming very apparent that no one seems to believe in the edge rushers that the Philadelphia Eagles have.
Jonathan Greenard was traded for by the Eagles, giving them their top pass rusher, but outside of that, no one is getting love. Instead, Bleacher Report writer Moe Moton thinks the Eagles should sign edge rusher Von Miller.
"Miller is open to a second stint with the Denver Broncos. Perhaps he would be willing to play under former Broncos head coach and defensive play-caller Vic Fangio. If so, the 14-year pro could bolster the Philadelphia Eagles' outside linebacker group.
The Eagles acquired edge-rusher Jonathan Greenard from the Minnesota Vikings, but they don't have a reliable pass-rusher on the opposite side, though Jalyx Hunt showed signs of promise last season. As a first-rounder from the 2023 draft, Nolan Smith Jr. has been a disappointment, logging just 10.5 sacks.
Miller can provide a much-needed pass-rushing boost and be a closer on the edge in Philadelphia."
Von Miller is not necessary for the Eagles at all
This is nothing against Miller, as he is a future Hall of Famer and is still playing at a high level. He's been to eight Pro Bowls, selected to three All-Pro teams, won two Super Bowls, and was Super Bowl MVP. Not to mention at age 37, he still got nine sacks with the Washington Commanders.
The issue is the complete disrespect for some of the edge rushers the Eagles currently have on the roster, especially towards Hunt. Last year, Hunt led the Eagles in sacks (6.5) and interceptions (three). How many edge rushers are doing that in the NFL?
Smith deserves to be questioned after his tough 2025 campaign, but he still does a good job pressuring the quarterback. Don't forget the Eagles signed Arnold Ebiketie and A.J. Epenesa to add depth to the edge rusher position.
Philly looks to be in a much better position at edge rusher than they were last year, so the questions about it seem odd. The Eagles have much bigger problems than edge rusher, including at safety and the depth of the offensive line.

Right now, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman does not want to spend more money on an edge rusher, as he is more focused on the secondary. The media has to lay off the idea of another edge rusher getting added because it's not going to happen, and it's not necessary at all.
